You created the earth and the sky and all that is within
You make the earth quake
The oceans crash
And the mountains fall into the sea
You created the behemoth
With its mighty tail, huge teeth and legs like thunder
You see when the mountain goat gives birth to her young
You bring them into the world by saying the word.
You are holy
You are all-powerful
You are all-knowing
You are sovereign.
How can we approach your presence?
How can we enter your throne room?
We shutter in fear
We stand in awe
We have sinned against you
Rebellion is on our tongue
Blood on our hands
Why did you come?
Not to condemn
But to save
But to save.
So that we have someone to cry out to
Someone who’s been there.
Someone who knows pain
Someone who knows suffering
Someone who knows love
Someone who knows joy
Someone to embrace.
And we embrace.
I deserve hell.
I deserve the punishment of my rebellion against a holy and infinite God.
And we embrace.
And we embrace.
Show me the depths of your mercy.
All that I have that I don’t deserve
Show me the sufficiency of your grace.
Show me thousands of mercies.
Heal my brokenness
Renew my mind
Transform my heart
Show me thousands of mercies.
