Episode #3 of “Behind the Curtain” is here!
(If you missed them, check out episode 1 with pastor / author Ken Wytsma and episode 2 with author Ted Kluck)
In episode 3, we are interviewing Mike Morter, co-founder of the band Churchill:
Churchill’s hit single “Change” was released in 2012. The Change EP reached #9 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart and the hit single reached #17 on the Alternative Songs chart.
Churchill toured Europe with Pink, played on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and performed in the US with The Fray, Florence and the Machine, One Republic, Philip Phillips, Sarah Bareilles, Imagine Dragons and more.
Mike and I talk about fame, being a celebrity, being around celebrities, touring, pressure, always being asked “What’s next?,” how Jesus and our identity in Christ can get muddled in all that, and the insecurities that go with the ups and downs of the industry.
You can purchase Churchill’s music on iTunes and can also listen to much of it for free on the band’s SoundCloud page.

Preview of Upcoming “Behind the Curtain” Episode:
I’ll be interviewing Zachary Bartels, author of Playing Saint, 42 Months Dry and the upcoming (releasing July 7th) The Last Con. Zach is a Christian fiction author as well as a pastor. He and I will discuss the tension between the publishing industry’s mandate to promote yourself with the need as a pastor to not promote yourself and to promote Jesus instead! It will be a great interview you won’t want to miss.
Zach is a great author. His books are funny, clever, edgy, and page-turning as well as spiritually insightful and subtly convicting. I strongly encourage checking out his writing. He also co-hosts The Gut Check Press podcast with author Ted Kluck, which you can listen to here.
