GIVE to International Justice Mission
PRAY for the victims of slavery. Pray for their freedom. Pray that they will know God is for them. Pray for recovering slaves. Pray that they find wholeness in Jesus. Pray for the healing of their hearts, minds, souls, and bodies. Pray for the slave owners, pimps, and johns (johns are the clients who purchase prostitutes). Pray that God changes their hearts on how they see other humans. Pray that they repent and find the freedom and forgiveness only Jesus can offer.
PROMOTE the cause of anti-slavery. Use social media to spread the word. Be a voice for the voiceless.
INK your hand with a big red X all day long on February 27th and when people ask, let them know about today’s slavery epidemic and how they can join the abolitionist movement.
CARRY a red permanent marker with you all day on the 27th so people can join in with you!
WRITE to business CEO’s and ask them to track if slave labor is used in their supply chains. Most simply don’t know and might be willing to look if you ask them. Former Apple CEO Steve Jobs did exactly that when Justin Dillon randomly emailed him! Justin is the founder of Made in a Free World and creator of the Slavery Footprint app and just did a great talk on this at last week’s Justice Conference. I’ll post the video of his talk here as soon as it’s made available. Oh yeah, and he got a reply from Mr. Jobs (it’s pretty cool to see a screenshot of the actual email in Justin’s talk, but something from Google Images will do for now…)

Very glad to see you posted about this. As a counter-trafficking activist, I can vouch that we need more people to take notice of this. The critical point, however, is that awareness is not enough. We need people to get involved in stopping human trafficking. We need committed donors to NGOs (for example, I support Hagar Int’l, a women/children’s program in SE Asia). Knowledge without action is next to useless. Glad to see you said this: “GIVE to International Justice Mission”. Yes, please, anyone reading this, give to orgs like those. They make a real difference!
