- God sees all things from all time at one time. He sees the end, what everything is pointing toward. We only see what is right in front of us.
- Jesus hangs on a cross. On the surface: a colossal failure. In reality: The ultimate victory over sin and evil, the victory that allows us an eternity in Heaven if we receive this grace.
- Jesus teaches that the Kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. On the surface: a dirty field with a flat broke man sitting in it. In reality: A man so full of joy, sitting on top of the riches of eternity with our loving God. The treasure being worth a trillion times more than a king’s wealth.
- Jesus says the first will be last, and the last will be first.
- We go through struggle and doubt if God loves us. God reminds us his grace is sufficient for us and his power is made perfect in weakness. On the surface, we only see our struggle and the allure of what seems better. In reality, Jesus is everything we need. Period.
- God’s victory has always been counter intuitive. He fights Roman armies, corrupt religious authorities, and Satan’s crafty attacks with instructions to his followers to plant seeds. Seeds against swords.
- We are still fighting with seeds against swords. And God’s victory still reigns.
- God sees all things from all time at one time. He sees the end, what everything is pointing toward. We only see what is right in front of us.
