I know your article was written awhile ago, but this is the first time I have felt – what was said. My father left when I was 2. I thought I was a confident person since I had eight brothers who told me that I was awesome. At 49, I have realized I do not feel worthy of love from a man; that no man could ever love me. After reading your words, that I have heard before (not meant offensively), I felt them. I felt that I am looking for love in the wrong places. I should find my love in our Father. Thank you so much for sharing this Wendy. God definitely moves and speaks according to his season, that is for sure. What a wonderful gift He has given you. Trust me, no offense taken at all. I write this stuff and then there are plenty of days when I’m not experiencing the same freedom I write about. I go back before the Lord’s presence, (sometimes re-reading my own writing!) asking him to remind me of the truths about how he loves me. One tool I’ve used for myself that I put on the blog is a simple list of Scripture verses I can go before the Lord with in my quiet time with him and allow him to personally speak through these Scriptural truths into my soul about what he thinks about me. I pray these Scriptures will bless you as well!
