I often make predictions in my sermons on sexual purity that the video game, virtual reality and/or robotics industry will soon have simulated sex for sale, with full array of sensors and ‘experience.’ Lewd sex scenes are already available in games on mainstream video game consoles and as controllers and technology become more and more interactive, the unquenchable thirst for such sex products continues to skyrocket with no sign of ever stopping. As if someday we’ll be able to actually attain the sexual fantasy we long for so deeply!
The inevitable is upon us.
While carrying a hefty price tag, rubber ‘sex robots’ will soon be for sale in your town, NBC News reports. Differing from their sex doll predecessors, these robots will be able to talk and according to sex robot company True Companion, “(She) knows your likes and dislikes, carries on a discussion and expresses her love to you and [can] be your loving friend. She can talk to you, listen to you and feel your touch. She can even have an orgasm.” The standard edition of “Roxxxy,” True Companion’s sex robot, will sell for $7000, which custom designs going for as high as $75,000.
If this weren’t disturbing enough, sex robots will come in the form of women, men as well as children.
And express their “love” for you.
We are so lost.
We are so lost.
This is the inevitable result of a society addicted to the instant gratification of sex and a society that has completely thrown out the idea of God as a moral authority or as one who should be guiding us. It’s the inevitable result of a society that says relativism and human autonomy are the greatest values and anything that challenges these things is the worst form of evil.
Here’s the connection: the porn you are looking at, or that you grew up looking at, is what creates the appetite to want to have sex with a robot. Even if you never actually have sex with a robot, (men) porn has made you look at women like they are robots already. Every woman outside of your marriage that you fantasize about is a woman you have removed her humanity from. You have removed all of the complexities that make a person a human. This would also be true for women who look at porn or who create unrealistic (a.k.a. non-human) fantasies of the perfect sexual man in her mind using non-visual cues.
God created sex to be within marriage only as a way of upholding all of a person’s complexities in a secure and safe environment built on trust, commitment and vulnerability. Someone’s mess is what makes them human. You will never find a human who doesn’t also have a mess. Marriage is the place for us to be loved, accepted and valued through any and all circumstances. Ever heard the phrases “in sickness and in health…for richer or poorer…til death do us part…”? This is what that means! Anything short of that is not love.
The NBC News quotes from the sex robot inventors are laughable:
Founder of True Companion and inventor or Roxxxy, Douglas Hines, defended his creation, telling CNBC that she has a useful role to play in society.
“Roxxxy provides physical and sexual pleasure but also provides social interaction and engagement,” he said. “It’s customizing technology to provide a perfect partner…” (emphasis added)
Social interaction??? What is the definition of social? Interaction / engagement between human beings! Hines’ quote is like saying your best friend is your toaster or having the best man at your wedding be your sofa. This is ludicrous.
A perfect partner? It is a sad tragedy that the definition of a perfect human partner is something that isn’t even human! “The perfect slice of pizza is a hamburger…That’s what I’m talking about!”
Again, this should not surprise us. Men have been choosing porn (non-human) over their wives (human) long before Roxxxy was ever invented. Men have been mentally transforming human women into consumable objects as far back as Jesus’ day (Matthew 5:27-28).
I think the sad tragedy of sex robots like Roxxxy can be an opportunity for the rest of society to see behind the curtain of Satan’s illusions that he’s been duping us with for as long we can remember. Is there really a difference in mental-wiring between imagining you are having sex with an object and actually doing it? Jesus would say there isn’t. It’s the same heart of selfish consumption. The same heart of dehumanizing. Seeing a photo of Roxxxy ought to make us realize what we as individuals are becoming every single time we fuel the fire of lust in our lives in any way, shape or form. We are only fueling our appetite for Roxxxy and shaping our heart and mind one step closer to be the same as the person who actually drops the $7000 to have Roxxxy for his own. If you’ll allow me to give a non-inspired Noah Filipiak 2015 updated translation of Jesus’ commands about lust from Matthew 5:27-28, it might sound something like this:
27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not have sex outside of marriage.’ 28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully (this includes on Netflix, those NFL cheerleaders you just gazed upon, the businesswoman you just looked up and down) has already dehumanized her to the likes of Roxxxy and has already had sex with Roxxxy in his heart.
Do you want that on your spiritual resume? I certainly don’t.
The fact of the matter is, God created us to bring life to one another, not to remove it.
Trust God that his ways are right.
Stop swallowing everything culture puts on your plate just because it is coated in butter and goes down easy.
Trust a God who lovingly commands you (Ephesians 5:3), But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people.

This is truly sick and disturbing. The rationale on this will be “Oh but then they’re not going out there and having sex with real children – so this is much better”. Truly truly disturbing.

It’s amazing how people rationalize their sin to make themselves feel better about it. And how easily we are deceived that something isn’t going to lead us to even darker places than we could ever imagine!

Haha, great question! Typically the crazy ones I get from my wife who reads MSNBC ( or is it NBC News now?) news feed on her phone! She’ll see something wacko like this one and say “You’ve got to do a blog post on this one!”
